onshape created in mm, export to dxf, import dxf to kicad, appears as if onshape had been in inches. kicad has no units override unless no units are specified. the scaling ratio from inches back to mm borders on irrational: 0.0 39370078740157... leading to unavoidable truncation errors in kicad. This makes the file unusable.

What I need is mm in one sheet and inch in another from two different parts in the same document. What I have experienced so far is that the document has a default unit. Let's say the default is inches, if I needed a part that was in millimeters in the same document so that I can have all the sheets together in the same pdf I have to type mm ...

The question states that the goal is to have 10 inches turn into 10 mm. Changing the workspace unit changes 10 in into 254 mm. Does anyone know how to do the unit substitution instead of unit conversion?

After getting the sizes wrong on a panel I created, I made a test object 7.5cm by 8.5cm in OnShape, exported to dxf and viewed it in eDrawings - The dimensions it shows there are 190.5mm by 215.9mm.

Hi I have created a model with units in inches, now I want to convert it to mm without changing the values(ie 25in +25mm).

I know this is a newbie question...Sorry! I have units set to inches in Onshape. When I export parts via STL and import them into Cura or Simple3D, they come in as mm (for instance, a 2 in x 2 in x 2 in cube comes in as 2 mm x 2 mm x 2 mm).

But I still see tha value of dimensions in Inch. Each time if I want to define a surface or something, I must write not onlye 5 or 23 (as an example) but"5 mm" and"23 mm". If I do not write"mm", it will be defined in Inch.
